Quail West Golf & Country Club announced that a substantial renovation of the award-winning community’s clubhouse and two championship golf courses is progressing as planned. Budgeted at a cost of approximately $30 million, and based on the results of a nearly year-long facility study, the member approved and financed initiative reflects the community’s continued mission to be the premier private residential country club in Southwest Florida. Designed to meet the needs of Quail West’s growing membership and the changing lifestyle characteristics of the community’s members, the improvements will provide the latest in physical facilities and state of the art technology while further solidifying Quail West’s position as Southwest Florida’s leading luxury golf course community.
Acknowledged as a club that provides the highest quality amenities in a relaxed and refined atmosphere, Quail West members enjoy an active lifestyle. The current renovation initiative will make the clubhouse an even more highly preferred destination while providing residents and members an experience that offers the finest in high-end amenities and services without ever needing to leave the community, including formal and casual dining, a glass enclosed, heated swimming pool, fitness, wellness, golf, tennis, and salon and spa services. Quail West’s members will appreciate having exclusive access to the club’s comprehensive array of world-class amenities, particularly during winter season when traffic and crowded restaurants can make life less convenient. The enhancements will also further secure Quail West’s legacy of offering the best golf and social experience in Southwest Florida.
To avoid the sprawling and disjointed building configuration prevalent at other clubs, the renovation design is focused on providing an integrated club experience in a single location. The renovation of the 70,000 square foot clubhouse complex will feature a new 12,000 square foot dedicated fitness and wellness building; enlarged and redesigned pre-function spaces to enhance the members’ experience during events; a major enhancement to the casual dining facilities and outdoor dining areas; an Internet Café with grab and go service; and a complete renovation of the kitchens to improve food preparation and service in all dining venues in the Club.
The two-story dedicated fitness and wellness center building is being built by Gates Construction and expected to be completed in January, 2017. Gates will also be completing associated site improvements to expand parking at the clubhouse complex and redoing four of the Club’s eight tennis courts with new hydro court surfaces and LED lighting. The new fitness and wellness center will promote exercise and wellness classes for members of all ages and will feature dedicated areas for Pilates and spin classes, cardio and weight rooms, and TRX personal training technology. Live and video workouts will be available throughout the year. A glass-enclosed lobby reminiscent of a fine luxury hotel will provide a bright note of welcome to members and their guests. The new fitness and wellness center will connect to the existing glass-enclosed indoor heated pool and to the clubhouse.
Renovation of the upstairs fine dining and banquet kitchen is also underway and expected to be completed by the end of October. Because premier quality food and elegant service are hallmarks of the Quail West experience, the dining and kitchen renovations are primary aspects of the upgraded clubhouse facility. The fine dining experience will be enhanced by expanded pre-function space overlooking the indoor glass enclosed pool with a completely new lighted bar with a contemporary glass wall that is reminiscent of fine restaurants on 5th Avenue South in downtown Naples. The design of the new pre-function space is centered on the undulating shape of the bar and the glass wall that will contain moving water and mood lighting. A double-sided fireplace will warm the room and allow seating venues for casual conversation with friends and neighbors in both the pre-function room and the adjacent club room. The expansion of the second floor kitchen will enhance service to both the Mahogany Room formal dining room and to events including 300 to 350 people in the adjacent ballroom.
Work on the redesign of the main lobby entrance has also begun. Exquisite furnishings will be framed by a new fire and water feature in the lobby that will create a memorable impression on members and guests as they enter the exclusive Quail West venue. Furnishings and area rugs have been selected that provide comfort and a consistent look for the lobby and hallway leading to the ballroom. The redesigned lobby is expected to be completed by the end of September.
The design of the improved clubhouse spaces has been a cooperative effort of Humphrey Rosal Architects and Clive Daniel Home. Their design concept is intended to enhance the club’s current high-end finishes while incorporating new design elements consistent with the new building additions. The upper floor of the clubhouse will remain more formal with a transitional feel. Phase II renovations are scheduled to commence in summer, 2017 and will transform the lower floor of the clubhouse. The redesigned lower floor will provide more casual spaces that tie in the traditional elements of the club with a more relaxed casual atmosphere presented by the lower floor’s corridor that will integrate golf, fitness, tennis, the salon and spa, and casual dining.
Renovations to Quail West’s two golf courses designed by golf course architect Arthur Hills will address enhancements to the irrigation systems, green complexes, adjacent grass areas, and fairways. The renovation effort is focused on improving the playability of the Lakes and Preserve courses. The golf practice area will be enlarged to provide increased preparation and lesson space. Improvements to the Preserve course are underway and the course will remain closed as the renovations proceed. Encircled by a large nature preserve, the Preserve course presents a lushly landscaped setting and strategically placed water hazards to create a challenging but fair test for all golfers. The Preserve course is expected to re-open in December. A similar schedule will be implemented for the Lakes Course with work beginning in spring, 2017 and the course re-opening by the end of the year.
The hallmark of Quail West is its commitment to luxury in all aspects of the community. Projected to include 678 luxurious single family residences at build-out, Quail West is expected to reach 500 completed homes this year. The improvements now underway will meet the increased demand for a full-service community that satisfies the desires of today’s faster paced, more active, and more connected lifestyles.
Quail West is widely regarded as the friendliest and most inclusive club in the area. The goal of the Club improvements is to provide members with a place to socialize, exercise, and participate in friendly competitive sports in the highest quality setting. From couple’s events for golf, tennis, and bocce ball, to individual exercise classes or wellness lectures, Quail West provides the finest in everything. Wine tastings, gourmet dinners, and community events allow members to enjoy time with their friends and neighbors.
