Stock Custom Homes announced that Soco Interiors’ Daniel Killgore, ASID has created a coastal contemporary interior design for one of three two-story Row Houses the luxury homebuilder is building on 6th Street South in Old Naples. The first Row House is under construction. The second will start this month and feature Killgore’s interior. The third residence is slated to begin construction in August. Pricing will be determined as construction progresses.
The 3,823 square feet Row House floor plan was designed by Matt Kragh at MHK Architecture and Planning. Kragh’s plan includes a wide foyer adjoining the staircase to the second floor, a spacious dining room, a light-filled living room with a two-story ceiling and fireplace, a double-island kitchen, a master suite, a covered lanai adjoining a pool and spa, and a three-car garage on the first floor. The second floor includes two guest bedrooms with private baths, a loft space that includes a wet bar and opens to a covered balcony, a bonus room, and a guest cabana with a covered deck. A stairway provides private access to the guest cabana.
Kilgore’s coastal contemporary look features a light, airy layered neutral color palette. Flooring throughout the home will be reclaimed light oak in a seven-inch wide plank. Rather than using crown molding, Kilgore has created custom flat, linear moldings that will also be used as highlights in various ceiling details.
The light-filled entry will provide an immediate introduction to the crisp, clean neutral tones of Kilgore’s contemporary row house design. The open stairway will have white painted risers and thick plank treads in the same tones as the foyer flooring and will feature a custom iron railing. On the right side of the entry, the designer has commissioned an abstract map of Naples to be mounted on floating Plexiglas.
The dining room will have a floor to ceiling wall of mirrored panels to create a reflective counterpoint to the large window facing the outdoor area. In front of this mirrored wall will be a light grey linear credenza. The dining table will be an organic slab top wood table with two sleek dark charcoal pedestal bases. The modern side chairs will be a light linen color and the larger host and hostess chairs will be done in a contrasting charcoal grey linen fabric. Two handmade glass chandeliers will reflect in the mirrors and provide a sparkling focal point. A vibrant original abstract art piece will be mounted on the remaining wall.
The fireplace wall in the living room will continue the layered neutral theme by incorporating three narrow bands of light trim molding to visually separate the tall space. Translucent white drapery panels will frame the windows for a light breezy coastal feel. The linear fireplace surround will be below the wall mounted television. The fireplace wall will have high windows on the entire wall to create flowing streams of natural light. Two transitional non-matching neutral linen sofas will be in front of the fireplace facing a round coffee table with acrylic legs. Accents of rich black metal will be seen in the unique carved leg sofa table and in a black iron lamp table. A charcoal grey wool midcentury modern egg chair will provide visual reference to the room’s inspiration. A back-lit rectangular linear shape will be suspended below the painted tongue-in-groove two-story ceiling and will float above the main living area.
The kitchen will have a clean palette of warm whites, beginning with the white quartz waterfall countertop which then carries up as the backsplash. The base cabinets will also be finished in white making the space bright, light and open.
The outdoor living area features an outdoor kitchen with a full-sized stainless grill, a custom hood, and a fridge. A basket weave stone tile will be used for the backsplash. Granite countertops will match the fireplace surround wrapped around a modern linear firebox. The remainder of the fireplace wall will have a geometric reclaimed wood tile installed all the way to the ceiling. The outdoor living area will also have a neutral oversized sofa and two club chairs surrounding a reclaimed warm-toned wood cocktail table.
The serene master bedroom will feature neutral tones and light wood plank flooring and will introduce accents of soft gold, charcoal and cream. An oversized headboard will be upholstered in crisp tan quilted linen and on either side of the bed will be ivory painted night stands with a geometric Greek key pattern on the front. Across from the bed, the TV will be mounted above a large charcoal grey wood credenza.
The master bath will be designed with classic white Calcutta marble. This dramatic white marble will be used for the floor and the countertops, and full slabs will be used in the shower and on the wall behind the free-standing tub. The floor of the shower will be a 2 x 2-inch Calcutta marble hexagon tile.
Kilgore has renamed the loft the “owner’s lounge.” Designed as a private retreat, the room will have a television mounted above a modern chocolaty espresso finished credenza on the wall between the balcony doors. Instead of a sofa, the room will have two large comfortable chaise lounges and will feature a wine fridge, a full-sized wet bar with a stainless-steel backsplash, a charcoal grey quartz countertop and glass fronted display cabinets, and a matching built-in desk in a weathered grey/brown finish.
The vaulted ceilinged bonus room will be designed as a formal study/library with a custom niche above the desk and file storage below. Above the niche will be a built-in sculptural art installation which will be back lit for dramatic effect. The imported Portuguese desk will have an antique rubbed black finish. Two large geometrically shaped dark iron bookcases with glass shelves will be opposite a television mounted above a dark charcoal contemporary credenza. Two light grey swivel club chairs will face a supple creamy leather cocktail ottoman.
The cabana will be designed as a VIP guest suite with a separate entrance. The design concept here is ultimate luxury. The private coastal retreat will have a king-sized bed with a grand headboard and a chaise lounge, both upholstered in white linen. The chest next to the bed will be completely clad in linen and the media cabinet will present a smoky light grey surround with white lacquered doors. The desk will also be in a soft shade of white. A subtle white banded wall detail will wrap the whole room.
